Urang Sarawak. An exhibition about US
Discover Sarawak’s culture and history through key artefacts from the Sarawak Museum, some on display for the very first time and supported by text, photos, audio dramas, Audio visual presentations and interactive kiosks.
Learn about Sarawak’s unique spiritual beliefs and the remarkable expansion of territory during the Brooke era, and hear personal stories from the turbulent years of the Second World War and anti-cession period.
Find out about Sarawak’s early history from the archaeological finds uncovered during the colonial era and the role of Sarawak during the formation of Malaysia in 1963.
Finally, take a fresh look at Sarawak today through interviews on how Sarawakians mix and short films on famous local foods, festivals and native dialects and languages.
The guided tours are given by the exhibition researchers. Visitors can ask the guides all about the artefacts and the research and selection process which established the exhibition.
